Hat World and Genesco donate new shoes and hats to local school children

Volunteers from Indianapolis-based Hat World and Tennessee-based Genesco Inc. have donated new shoes and warm hats to 300 Indianapolis school children. The event, Cold Feet, Warm Shoes, is an annual national community outreach programme organised by Genesco. It was started by Genesco in Nashville 17 years ago to provide needy individuals with a new pair of well-fitting shoes of their choice for the winter. Following its 2004 acquisition of Hat World, the programme was expanded into the Indianapolis market last year. To date, more than 35,000 pairs of shoes have been donated across the USA.
