Fast activation time from Texon’s ProForm

28/11/2006

UK-based provider of structural solutions for the global footwear industry Texon International recently introduced a new nonwoven technology, designed to deliver consistent production in the manufacture of heel counter products.

Texon ProForm uses recycled raw materials formulated to provide a fast activation time with a long ‘open time’ (time to shape the material as it cools), which is said to improve the production process, reduce ‘yellowing’ and lower costs, as well as reducing the impact on the environment.

The technology benefits both hot and cold insertion techniques and is engineered to provide better shape and retention with minimal loss in stiffness. A structurally engineered polyester scrim (durable, loosely woven or knitted mesh/net) is used to provide three-dimensional stability, so thatTexon ProForm is said to be suitable for fashion footwear, including ladies’ court shoes and men’s dress shoes. Because of its strength, the product can also be used for high performance footwear such as outdoor, golf shoes and athletic footwear.

It is available in 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.4mm and 1.6mm gauges.
