Skins receives patent approval

21/11/2006

US footwear developer Skins Inc., has announced that its patent application for the company’s two-part, interchangeable footwear structure consisting of outer collapsible ‘Skins’ and an inner holistic, orthopaedic support section called the ‘Bone’, has been allowed and approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office. This goes into effect immediately with the patent pending status officially removed in the coming three to four months.

This approval will enable Skins to take any and all legal action against an infringing party or company.

Skins also owns the patent and trademark applications internationally for every country and territory the company intends doing business in or with.

The company plans a full-scale launch into US retailers for spring/summer 2007.

It has developed a two-part, interchangeable footwear structure consisting of outer collapsible ‘Skins’ and an inner ‘Bone’. The design allows consumers to purchase one inner section and numerous outers, resulting in multiple style variations from the same pair of ‘Bones’, allowing the same feel and fit no matter which Skin is being worn.
