Wolverine to become largest participant in renewable energy programme
Footwear company Wolverine World Wide, Inc. is to become the largest participant in a ‘Green Generation program’, which provides opportunities for electric customers to support the development of Michigan-based renewable energy sources. Wolverine's involvement in the programme will make the company one of the largest users of renewable energy in the state.
As part of its participation in the programme, Wolverine will match the entire amount of electric energy used at its three-building corporate offices with Michigan-based renewable energy.
"As an organisation committed to continually doing more for a healthier, more sustainable environment, we are proud to take this leadership position in the Green Generation program," said Timothy J. O'Donovan, Wolverine chairman and CEO.
Wolverine's footwear portfolio includes: Bates, Hush Puppies, Merrell, Sebago and Wolverine.
