India’s Liberty secures shoe supply contract worth Rs1 billion

Haryana-based leather footwear manufacturer Liberty Shoes has signed an agreement to supply safety shoes worth Rs1 billion ($21.98 million) to German footwear company Van Elten for the European market.

Liberty will supply between 300,000 and 500,000 pairs of safety shoes to the German company in the next three years.

The agreement was signed by Liberty chief executive officer Adesh Gupta and Van Elten managing director Heiner Van Elten in Berlin.

Liberty has an annual turnover in excess of $100 million and producing more than 50,000 pairs of footwear a day.
