Dow exits Peroxymeric Chemicals business
The Dow Chemical Company has announced that it is to exit the Peroxymeric Chemicals (PXC) business, with production ceasing for most products by October 31. This follows a period of declining revenue and poor market conditions for the products.
The business will continue to offer Cyracure photoinitiators, produced by a third party on the company’s behalf. All other PXC products will be discontinued, including: Cyracure and ERL cycloaliphatic epoxides; Flexol EPO and LOE epoxidised oils; and Tone caprolactone monomers and polymers, Tone polyols and Tone m-series caprolactone acrylate.
PXC products are specialty chemicals that are used for a wide variety of end use products including shoe adhesives, and insulation tapes.
