Brazilian footwear company Calçados Azaléia has reported second quarter net profits of R$4.055 million ($1.886 million), well above the R$1.82 million achieved in the second quarter of 2005. Accumulated figures for the first six months show a net profit of R$13.52 million compared with R$4.34 million in the same period the previous year.
 

Second quarter net turnover totalled R$158.26 million, a 19% decrease compared with the prior year period net turnover. First half turnover dropped 14% to R$337.06 million compared with the first half of 2005.
