UK-based knitwear firm The Rutland Clothing Company is to invest in a major product redesign and re-launch after negotiating exclusive rights to the Stylo Golf footwear and Net64 clothing brands from Stylo plc and Matchmakers International respectively.

Managing director Mark Wilkinson, who founded the company in 1994, is confident that the signing of these two brands will make a substantial contribution to the business. He said, "We intend to inject some long overdue dynamism to both the clothing and footwear ranges, making them more stylish and fashionable. We will use brighter colours and fresher designs that will appeal to the massive market of younger golfers.“

Adrian Anderson of Betesh Fox Solicitors who helped to broker the deal added, "This is a great deal on many levels aside from the commercial.  Not only have Stylo golf shoes been worn by many famous golfers including Arnold Palmer, Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomery, but Stylo is also in the Guinness Book of Records for making the most expensive pair of golf shoes in the world - a jewel encrusted, mink-lined pair that sold for £8,000!"
