New technologies for multicoloured sole production

09/08/2006

Germany-based shoe machinery and rubber injection moulding machinery manufacturer DESMA has introduced its D622/30 rotary machine which offers new solutions for direct footwear soling. Up to five injector units working in a step-by-step sequence can inject complete multicoloured TPU/PU soles directly onto the upper in a single rotation. The machine is said to be more effective than existing systems that involve pre-production processes and the placing of multicoloured soles into the mould.

As a result, it could help to reduce costs and allow European manufacturers to compete with lower cost footwear produced in the Far East. Attractive footwear with demanding design features can be produced on a single machine using only one mould per size, with a twelve second cycle time and an output of up to 130 pairs per hour.
