Vibram to team up with Skins
Emerging footwear company Skins Inc. has announced a new partnership with sole manufacturer, Vibram.
Touted as having invented the rubber sole in the 1930s, Vibram is best known in the outdoor industry, although its technology is also now used by many fashion houses such as Emporio and Giorgio Armani, Prada Sport, and Hugo Boss.
Skins has created, and is continuing to develop, a two-part, interchangeable footwear structure consisting of outer collapsible "Skin" and an inner orthopaedic support section called the "Bone". The design allows consumers to purchase one inner section, the Bone, and numerous outer "Skins", resulting in multiple style variations from the same pair of "Bones".
