Wolverine launches new lightweight safety footwear

The Wolverine Footwear Group, a division of branded footwear and performance footwear manufacturer Wolverine World Wide Inc., will launch its latest safety work footwear range at the World Shoe Association show in Las Vegas on August 1-4.

The new CarbonX Advanced Safety-Toe Footwear is said to offer the same level of protection as a traditional steel-toe but with half the weight. It will be available in hiker, six- and eight-inch work boot styles.

Utilising advanced carbon-fibre technology, the new styles are non-conductive to electricity and are said to resist extreme cold and heat and exceed ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 standards. Stability is ensured with the help of a Wolverine Rubber Lug outsole, while extra room in the toe-cap allows for greater comfort.
