New shoe factory inaugurated in Argentina

Footwear manufacturer Zurich, owned by the Messetzián family, recently inaugurated its new shoe factory in Victoria, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. $2.5 million has been invested in the new 3,500m² building, which has been equipped with the latest production technology and is expected to employ around 80 workers.

The new unit was inaugurated in the presence of Argentina’s minister of the Economy, Felisa Miceli, the secretary of Industry, Miguel Peirano, the mayor of San Fernando, Gerardo Amieiro, and other national and regional authorities. Ms. Miceli stated that the government is devoted to supporting the recovery and development of Argentina's industry.

She praised entrepreneurs who are investing in the sector and generating jobs. It is the first new company to be set up in the district since the 1990s.
