New footwear exhibit in Patent and Trademark Office Museum

A new exhibit entitled ‘Shoes: Innovations at Your Feet’ has opened at the Patent and Trademark Office Museum, Virginia.

Visitors to the museum will learn the history of patented footwear, view stylish innovations, and see how people customise their shoes for work. The exhibit incorporates 19th century models of patented shoe inventions as well as recent accomplishments of the footwear industry, including children, work, comfort and fashion shoes.

US under-secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office Jon Dudas joined David Fink, president and CEO of the National Inventors Hall of Fame for the official opening.
