German chemicals group Lanxess has been presented with the Deutsche Kautschuk Gesellschaft (DKG) Product Award in the Materials category at the German Rubber Conference in Nuremberg, July 3-6. The newly established Award honours innovations in the rubber industry and the Therban AT product line, makes the processing of Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR) rubbers far easier and adds new dimensions to the property profile of vulcanisates made from this high-performance elastomer.

According to Dirk Achten, chemist at the Lanxess Technical Rubber Products business unit, the HNBR grades "are less viscous than popular HNBR grades and are therefore much easier to process."
