BASF raises prices for 2-ethylhexanoic acid

03/07/2006

Effective immediately, or as existing contracts permit, BASF is raising its 2-ethylhexanoic acid prices by €50 per metric ton in Europe and $70 per metric ton in NAFTA, unless existing contractual agreements state otherwise. This increase is said to be due to increased costs and unsatisfactory margins.

2-Ethylhexanoic acid is a chemical intermediate for many different industrial applications, for example for the manufacture of plasticisers, PVC stabilisers, lubricants and drying additives for coatings.
