The 54th Sapica, held from April 27-30 in León, Mexico, exceeded expectations in terms of visitor numbers, registering 12,149 domestic and foreign buyers.

President of Sapica Raúl Dobles pointed out that “the increase in visitor numbers resulted in good sales and new contacts for the 850 exhibitors participating in the event”.

Large numbers attended lectures and fashion shows where new trends in ladies' and men's casual footwear ranges, sandals, cowboy styles, ladies' dress shoes, slippers and leathergoods could be seen.

A campaign publicising import quotas on Chinese, Vietnamese and Brazilian footwear was held during the fair as part of the programme of the event.
