Paraguay’s first European shoe exports

Paraguayan shoe manufacturer Forces is to export 15,000 pairs of shoes to Spainthe first Paraguayan shoe exports to Europe.
 

According to media reports, president of the Paraguayan Footwear Chamber Carlos Fleitas has indicated that other manufacturers are likely to follow suit, as well as potentially exporting to the US.

Sales in the domestic market are said to be increasing slightly, with a greater range of products now available and more manufacturing technology in use.

Mr Fleitas also criticised the Ministry of Industry and Commerce which he claimed was not doing enough to prevent shipments of contraband footwear, mainly from Brazil, entering the country and being sold.
