Pakistan's Minister of State for Finance, Omar Ayub Khan, has announced that the government has set out a new range of incentives in order to promote exports of leather and footwear. The first of these will be that sales tax on imported plant machinery, instruments and spare parts, including those required by the leather sector, will be removed. Further incentives are yet to be announced.
