Joint administrators of Scotland-based Wellington boot manufacturer, Hunter Rubber Company, recently completed the sale of the business to a consortium of buyers, who plan to continue the manufacture of the Hunter boots in Dumfries.

It is anticipated that all the remaining 64 employees will keep their jobs as the business has successfully transferred to the new owner, a consortium comprising Jonathan Marland, Peter Mullen, Julian Taylor and Pentland Group plc.

Blair Nimmo, joint administrator and KPMG restructuring partner said, We are pleased to have completed a sale of the business and assets of the Hunter Rubber Company. This represents a good result for the employees as well the company’s creditors and is expected to mean the production of the famous Hunter boots will continue in Dumfries.”

Over 30 different buyers expressed an interest in the company.
