According to the organisers of the finished footwear show, 2006 Spring Shoes Trade Fair, held in Guangzhou, China, over 400 domestic and international footwear manufacturers participated at the fair which took place on April 15-20.

Some 6,922 visitors attended the event, an increase of 24.24% on last year, 4,390 of whom came from overseas.

Whilst, there was a marked decline in the number of visitors from Europe due to the duties which have been imposed, the number of buyers from Africa and America increased significantly, accounting for 27.3% and 15.7% of the total visitors respectively. The number of buyers from other Asian countries remained stable at 1,904.
