According to statistics released by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), the number of footwear orders received during the 99th Chinese Export Commodities Fair in April, fell significantly compared with last year.

The number of European merchants was 23.2% lower on the first day of the fair, falling to 5,541. Representatives from Jiangsu province said that orders taken at the fair were down 40% compared with last year.
