Higher revenues at Kraton Polymers

Polymer Holdings LLC, the parent company of Kraton Polymers LLC has reported higher revenues for the first quarter 2006. Polymer Holdings total revenues for the quarter reached $229.4 million compared with $207.2 million in the comparable period of 2005, an increase of 10.7%. This improvement was primarily driven by an increase in average selling prices and an increase in sales volume. Polymer Holdings net income for the quarter was $4.3 million, compared with $3.1 million in the comparable period of 2005. Kraton’s net income for the quarter was $6.5 million compared with $5 million in the comparable period of 2005.

Kraton Polymers is a global specialty chemicals company and is said to be the world's largest producer of styrenic block copolymers (SBCs)—which are highly-engineered synthetic elastomers, which enhance the performance of products by delivering a variety of attributes, including greater flexibility, resilience, strength, durability and processability. Kraton polymers are used in a wide range of applications including tapes, labels, and footwear products. It has production facilities in the United States, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Brazil, and Japan.
