Women’s footwear retailer Bakers Footwear Group, Inc., has reported first quarter fiscal 2006 net sales of $49.8 million for the thirteen weeks ended April 29, an increase of 10.8% compared with the $44.9 million reported in the thirteen weeks ended April 30, 2005. Comparable store sales in the first quarter decreased 0.8% compared with a 7.8% increase in the comparable period last year. Web store net sales increased 172.9%.

The company sells private label and national brand dress, casual and sport shoes, boots, sandals and accessories.
