Tintas Killing to build a factory in Bahia

A protocol of intent has been signed by Brazilian supplier of paint and adhesives to the footwear, leather, furniture, metal and construction industries Killing S.A Tintas & Adesivos and the government of the state of Bahia, Brazil to build a factory supplying products for the growing local footwear industry. 

The final decision about the investment is likely to be made before August. The new unit is expected to produce up to 5,000 tons of adhesives per year and will generate 25 new jobs with an investment of R$5 million ($2,326 million).

A new factory has already been approved in Sao Leopoldo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the most modern in the world, to produce both paint and adhesives. Construction work is scheduled to start soon and production is likely to begin in 2008.

Last year, the company reported net profits of $72 million and expects this figure to rise to $78 million in 2006.
