José Antonio Abugaber Andonie has been elected president of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato, the main shoe manufacturing region in Mexico.

Speaking on the occasion of his election, Mr Abugaber’s said that his greatest concern is to defend jobs in the footwear industry. The governor of the State of Guanajuato, Juan Carlos Romero Hicks ratified his support for the Chamber and the leather and shoe productive chain as a whole and highlighted its importance within the country's economy.
