A total of 20,065 visitors attended the sixteenth SIPIEL, International Leather Week, which included Modacalzado, the International Footwear Trade Fair, and Iberpiel Marroquinería, the International Leather Goods Fair.

The total number of visitors was down by 6.6% compared with 2005, mainly as a result of the lower levels of attendance on the part of non-exhibiting manufacturers, pattern cutters, etc. However, there was still a high international presence with 3,186 overseas visitors from 71 countries attending the event, with an increased number of visitors from countries such as Russia, Japan and the United States.

Modacalzado celebrated its tenth anniversary at the event and 618 exhibitors, 151 of whom were from abroad, whilst 126 exhibitors participated at Iberpiel Marroquinería.
