The 2026 Simac and Tanning Tech events celebrated their third and final days on September 17. 

Leather machinery manufacturers told Leatherbiz that they had seen and heard more optimism among visitors than they had been expecting. 

Interest in technology developments remains keen, but for much of the time in recent years, geopolitical issues and high input costs have led to a reluctance among tanners to commit to investing in new equipment. 

Several technology developers said they were leaving Milan with some reassurance that investment could soon begin again.
