On enters football with Mbappé
On has announced its entry into football, with French international Kylian Mbappé joining the Swiss sportswear brand as a global ambassador and working with its product teams on future football footwear and apparel.
On is now expanding beyond its established running and training categories into football. The company said it will apply its approach to product development and Swiss engineering to the demands of football, with a focus on lightweight and close-fitting products.
On is also applying its LightSpray manufacturing technology, which uses a robotic process to create footwear uppers from a continuous sprayed filament, to football product development.
Former France international and World Cup winner Thierry Henry has been appointed Director of Football. He has been working with On on its entry into the sport since late 2025, covering areas including product development, athlete relationships and football strategy.
Swiss international and FC Barcelona player Sydney Schertenleib will also work with On on football product development and testing, with a particular focus on the women’s game.
