Berluti director hails the bond between customers and quality products
The sustainability director of high-end footwear brand Berluti, Florence Piner, has said a repair service that the brand began to offer customers about a year ago has proved successful.
Speaking at the Sustainable Leather Forum in Paris on September 7, Ms Piner said Berluti had been “born into shoemaking”, but has now expanded its offering into leathergoods and ready-to-wear too.
Repair services are now available for the whole range, including developing an attractive patina on shoe uppers and helping customers keep leather jackets in good condition.
“What is exceptionally interesting is that this service part of our offering is the part of the business that is progressing the fastest,” she said.
She explained that offering these services had brought new customers “with great potential” to Berluti. She said this experience made her “enormously hopeful” because it shows, according to Ms Piner, “the incredible connection” that can form between a customer and a quality product.
