Bata India has surpassed 2,000 retail outlets and plans to expand its network to 3,000 stores, with future growth focused on Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets through a franchise-led model.

India is Bata’s largest global market and a key manufacturing and sourcing base, with the company selling around 50 million pairs of footwear annually across retail stores, multi-brand outlets and digital channels.

Around 90% of Bata India’s stores now operate as hyperlocal fulfilment hubs, while digital channels are expected to account for 20%-25% of business in the coming years. The company is also extending its Zero-Based Merchandising programme, which has been implemented in 775 stores and is planned for nearly 900 locations by the end of 2026.
