Adidas expands India sourcing with new plant

Adidas is set to expand its footwear sourcing capacity in India, with production for the brand due to begin at a new plant operated by Phoenix Kothari Footwear in Karur, Tamil Nadu, according to local media reports.

The facility is a joint venture between Kothari Industrial Corporation and Taiwan’s Evervan Group and is expected to begin manufacturing Adidas footwear in July. The companies are planning further expansion in India, with the new plant forming part of a broader investment programme aimed at increasing footwear production capacity.

The development reflects the continued growth of Tamil Nadu as a footwear manufacturing hub, as international brands and suppliers look to expand sourcing from India and diversify their global production networks.
