New director general sets out priorities for CTC
The director general of leather and footwear research and testing institution CTC, Maud Rascle, has said she aims to build on the organisation’s strengths and open up new opportunities.
Ms Rascle has taken over as director general from Françoise Nicolas, who has retired. She joined CTC at the start of the year and worked alongside Ms Nicolas for several months before taking over.
“These months have given me an opportunity to see CTC’s wealth of expertise and breadth of activity,” the new director general said. “We have a unique position in the leather and footwear sector.”
She said she had seen a high level of trust in CTC from member companies trust and that this was based on the organisation’s “technical excellence” and on the commitment of its teams, in France and overseas.
She laid out a series of priorities for CTC in the months and years ahead, saying the institute would work to help companies speed up their adoption of sustainable practices. She said this would range from renewable energy projects to eco-design principles.
Secondly, Ms Rascle said CTC would aim to help companies become more digital, integrating new technologies, including artificial intelligence, into their production processes.
Helping the industry survive and thrive through strengthening the skills of the people who work in it is another of the main aims of the new director general. She also said she wanted to help member companies reach new markets, while making sure their products comply with industry regulations.
Finally, she said she wanted to help the industry develop its communication skills.
