Adidas recently hosted sustainability hub Fashion For Good and nine other footwear brands at its headquarters in Herzogenaurach for a two-day discussion on making footwear circular.

Fashion For Good launched a footwear circularity project, ‘Closing the footwear loop’, in 2024.

At this 2026 gathering, ten brands discussed end-of-life infrastructure, policy recommendations and industry collaboration at scale.

On the second day, discussions focused on materials and manufacturing, with pitches from material innovators.

Fashion For Good said that the work the project partners had done across the two days would push them forward “towards the future of footwear”.
