Athletic footwear brand New Balance has launched two new models of boots for American football, the Rev X and the Rev iQ.

The first of these is engineered for what the brand refers to as “players who rely on explosive movement and precision”. The boot is built with proprietary stretch-woven TPU fabric called FitWeave. In this way, the upper moulds to the foot, New Balance has said, “for a snug, secure feel with adaptive stretch exactly where it’s needed”.

For its part, the Rev iQ, offers a low-cut collar and gusseted tongue to create a “locked-in feel”. It also has a flexible soleplate and “strategically layered stretch zones” that the brand says will allow the foot to move naturally during key moments in a game.
