New owner for Kickers amid Groupe Royer strife
French group Chaussea has acquired Groupe Royer, which filed for bankruptcy protection in October.
Groupe Royer owned the business of the Kickers brand in most markets. Chaussea said it was very happy to bring Kickers into its portfolio of brands.
Chaussea, which is based in Valleroy, near Metz in north-eastern France, described Kickers as “an authentic, free and non-comformist brand”. It said Kickers would help it strengthen its children’s footwear offering.
London-based Pentland Group acquired the Kickers business in the UK and Ireland in October 2025.
