OrthoLite’s footwear foam technology brand Cirql has completed lifecycle assessment (LCA) reports for its rTPU30 and rTPU50 to thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) products.
It worked with specialist, footwear-specific environmental platform Carbonfact to compile the reports.

Cirql general manager, Matt Thwaites, said that working with Carbonfact had allowed the materials developer to measure the footprint of its materials “with a level of detail and rigour that matches our ambitions for impact and transparency”.

Highlights from the LCAs include a 39% reduction in total carbon footprint for rTPU50 compared to virgin TPU.
