Proprietary lacing system helps Aku win Prowinter award
High-end outdoor footwear brand Aku has won one of the awards at the 2026 Prowinter exhibition in Bolzano in northern Italy, which took place from January 11-13.
This annual event offers a platform for showcasing ski and winter outdoor sports gear. Its awards programme seeks to celebrate technical and commercial excellence in a wide range of products.
Aku won in a category called Winter Expert Footwear for its Aurai DFS EVO GTX model. This category is for technical footwear intended for winter mountaineering professionals.
The Aurai DFS EVO GTX uses the proprietary DFS Dual Fit System, Aku’s lacing system technology that allows for easy fit adjustment. The brand says this allows wearers to have “control and precision in use in highly difficult mountaineering conditions”.
