Nike restructures senior leadership team
Nike has announced a series of senior leadership changes aimed at simplifying reporting lines and strengthening its connection to athletes and consumers.

The company has created a new position, EVP and chief operating officer, with Venkatesh Alagirisamy taking the role on December 8. He currently serves as chief supply chain officer. His expanded remit will include Technology alongside Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, Manufacturing and Sustainability. The change removes the EVP and chief technology officer role, and Dr Muge Dogan will leave the company.

Nike will also add the heads of its four global geographies to the senior leadership team. Angela Dong, Carl Grebert, Tom Peddie and Cathy Sparks will report directly to president and chief executive Elliott Hill. As part of this shift, the EVP and chief commercial officer position, held by Craig Williams, will be discontinued, and he will depart.

Global Sales and Nike Direct will move under EVP and chief financial officer Matt Friend, who brings more than 15 years of commercial and strategy experience to the expanded remit.

Nike said the changes support growth by tightening marketplace integration and advancing the priorities of its Win Now programme.
