Strongest revenue growth in years at Wolverine

Footwear group Wolverine Worldwide has reported revenues of $886.5 million for the first half of its business year, the period ending June 28. This is an increase of 8.1% year on year.

For the second quarter, revenues were $472.2 million, growth of 11.5%.

Chief executive, Chris Hufnagel, said the second-quarter results in particular had exceeded expectations. He said Wolverine had experienced “the strongest revenue growth we have seen in several years” during the quarter.

The company said it expected this momentum to continue into the third quarter but it said it did not want to provide a full-year outlook owing to “uncertainty around tariffs and related macro-economic conditions”.
