Clergerie enters receivership again

French footwear brand Clergerie has been placed in receivership for the second time in two years, with court-appointed receivers seeking a buyer. The company, based in Romans-sur-Isère, first entered receivership in 2023 before being acquired by US group Titan Footwear. However, efforts to revive the brand have faltered, leading to new legal proceedings.

The sale process covers two business entities. The first, responsible for manufacturing at Clergerie’s Romans factory, employs 32 workers and generated €4.5 million in revenue over 14 months. The second, handling commercial activities, includes a Paris store and department store concessions, employs 20 staff, and posted €4.9 million in revenue.

Clergerie’s international stores in Madrid, London, and the US are not included in the sale.
