Wolverine Worldwide creates chief strategy role
Footwear group Wolverine Worldwide has created the role of chief strategy officer and has appointed Brett Parent, who has worked at the group for almost 20 years, to the role.

After a series of marketing roles at Wolverine Worldwide, Brett Parent moved into strategy roles at the group in 2015. This led, in 2023, to his taking up the role of vice-president of strategy.

Chief executive, Chris Hufnagel, said this experience had allowed Mr Parent to see at close quarters “virtually every aspect of our global operations”. As vice-president of strategy, Brett Parent became what the chief executive called “a key architect, trusted advisor, and integral leader of our company’s turnaround effort over the past 18 months”.

Now, as Wolverine’s first chief strategy officer, he will have responsibility for developing and driving group strategy, assessing growth opportunities and leading a strategy team. He will also lead its consumer marketing team.
