Puma recognised for sustainability initiatives

Sportswear brand Puma has been included in the 2024 Laureus Sport for Good Index, recognised for its sustainability efforts, particularly the Re:Suede sneaker.

Following a successful two-year pilot, the compostable Re:Suede launched commercially in Europe, allowing customers to return sneakers for industrial composting, promoting a circular footwear model.

Other initiatives highlighted include Re:Fibre, which produced 46,000 recycled polyester garments in 2023, with plans to scale to millions of soccer jerseys, and Voices of a Re:Generation, engaging young advocates to promote sustainability.

The Laureus Sport for Good Index honours brands that align their business practices with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, using sport to drive social and environmental impact.
