H1 results bring Stella pledge to increase capacity in Bangladesh

22/07/2024
Footwear group Stella International has released unaudited figures that show sales revenues for the first half of 2024 of $748.8 million. If confirmed, this will mean growth of 7.4% year on year.

During the six-month period, Stella said it had shipped 26.5 million pairs, an increase in volume of 12.3% year on year.

The only negative figure to appear in the update was a decline in the group’s average selling price. This fell by 4.4% to reach $28.30 per pair.

Group chairman, Lawrence Chen, said shoes in Stella’s sports category had sold particularly well and offered this as a reason for the fall in average selling price.

But he said the group intended to continue to build on this success for sports shoes by “ramping up production at our manufacturing facility in Solo, Indonesia, and by building additional capacity in Bangladesh”.
