Ho Chi Minh City recently hosted events to promote trade between Vietnamese and Italian footwear and leather businesses.

Organised by the Italian Trade Office in Vietnam, Assomac, and Lefaso, the events aimed to introduce environmentally sustainable technologies to Vietnam.

Assomac General Manager Agostino Apolito and Italian Ambassador Marco Della Seta emphasised the importance of fostering trade relations and technology transfer. The newly established Vietnam-Italy Footwear Technology Centre in Binh Duong province will support this initiative by providing advanced machinery and training.

At a conference on July 12, Italian firms showcased their brands and technologies to Vietnamese counterparts, facilitating exchanges with industry experts. Lefaso President Diep Thanh Kiet projected that Vietnam's footwear and handbag export turnover could reach $38-40 billion by 2030, while stressing the need for green technologies to meet global standards.
