OrthoLite expands European manufacturing operations
OrthoLite is expanding its European operations, Ortholite Europa (OEU), to reinforce its global vertical integration strategy and control over its supply chain.
The company's increased investment in its facilities aims to enhance manufacturing practices and consistency across regions. Richard Bevan, OrthoLite's VP of Global Operations, highlighted the importance of the Spanish factory as a central hub for European partners, enabling agility and reliability in production.
The expansion of the Almansa, Spain facility will increase capacity, innovation, and local production solutions for European brand partners. Investments in new technologies will support manufacturing advancements, operational efficiencies, and capacity growth. The factory will adopt lean line production, automation, and continuous modernisation to meet rising demand.
Since 2021, OrthoLite has quadrupled its EU production capacity at the Almansa facility, specialising in leather-based solutions and providing quick delivery across Europe. The facility serves various footwear sectors with high-quality insoles and technical products, including leather and textile lamination, moulded insoles, and the unique OrthoLite O-Therm technology.
OrthoLite’s commitment to its European production is evident in its focus on local talent and technical skills in Almansa, known for its long history in shoemaking. The company's ongoing investments ensure premium service and quality for its brand partners, supporting customisation and meeting the demand for advanced designs and materials in footwear.
