Peru: ministry offers circular economy seminar to leather and shoe firms
Peru’s ministry for production ran a circular economy workshop at the end of June specifically for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
The ministry reached out to companies in the leather and footwear manufacturing industries to invite them to take part.
It has linked learning about the circular economy to a national procurement programme. It presented the main theme of the seminar as an exploration of the reach that a circular economy approach can have for companies taking part in the procurement programme.
The programme, Compras A MyPerú, aims to promote the inclusion of small and medium-sized manufacturers of materials and finished products in government procurement programmes.
