New footwear factory boosts Abia
Comfort Stevens Industries, a Nigerian footwear company, plans to establish a factory in Abia with a capacity of 15,000 pairs per day.
The initiative aims to boost local production, create jobs, and reduce poverty and will involve partners from the U.S., Brazil, and China to strengthen the Made-In-Aba brand.
The company aspires to become Africa's leading indigenous footwear manufacturer, reducing imports and supplying boots to military and paramilitary agencies. The government has pledged support, including training for local shoemakers and improving transportation infrastructure
