Biggest ever trade mission to Colombia for Brazilian shoe brands
Thirty-four Brazilian footwear companies have signed up to take part in a trade mission to Colombia at the end of June.
Brazilian footwear companies have been travelling on trade missions to Colombia since 2018, but the group going this time will be the biggest ever.
Shoe brand representatives will take part in a preliminary seminar on June 11 to learn more about the local market. Participants will then travel to Bogotá to talk to Colombian media and then, in a series of matchmaking meetings, present their collections to buyers and retailers.
Industry organisation Abicalçados said Brazilian footwear exports to Colombia between January and April this year had reached a volume of 3.5 million pairs, an increase of 4.5% year on year.
It is the sixth biggest export market for Brazilian footwear companies.
