Arc'teryx powers Amer's Growth
Amer Sports has released strong financial results for the first quarter of 2024, attributing the strong performance to the exceptional growth of its Arc'teryx brand.
CEO James Zheng emphasised the company's shift to a brand-direct business model, which has resulted in profitable growth, particularly through high-performance products like those from Arc'teryx.
The company reported a 13% increase in revenue to $1.2 billion compared to Q1 2023, with a significant 44% surge in the Technical Apparel segment, largely driven by Arc'teryx.
The brand achieved double-digit new store expansion and remarkable omni-channel growth across various regions, contributing to a 41% expansion in Direct-to-Consumer sales. Despite a 1% decrease in wholesale revenues year over year, regional growth was led by Greater China (up 51%) and Asia Pacific (up 34%), with EMEA growing by 1% and the Americas reporting flat revenues.
Amer Sports anticipates that Arc'teryx's strong performance will continue to drive profitable growth and deliver solid returns for shareholders throughout 2024.
