Colombia event sparks hopes of better footwear ties with Brazil

The executive president of footwear industry organisation Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, travelled to Colombia on April 17 to take part in a bilateral business forum, organised by Brazil’s export promotions agency ApexBrasil.

Business leaders from a number of sectors, including footwear, took part in the event, along with politicians from both countries.

Afterwards, Mr Ferreira said the event had opened up the possibility of greater economic ties between Colombia and Brazil.

In the first quarter of 2024, Colombia imported 2.7 million pairs of footwear from Brazil.
